Do you have the ability but need experience to add to your portfolio?
Do you have the personality to work with two almost completely insane women?
Do you really want to take dance lessons?

Wanna trade?
We are looking for people to help us with the following tasks:
Graphic Designer
- Design business cards, flyers and postcards (must be able to open current Mac files)
- Create consistency throughout existing material
- Refine our corporate image for print and electronic media
Webmaster
- Consolidate our web presence from several locations (web site, blogs, membership sites, etc.) Link ’em up!
- Optimize web content
- Manage web content updates
Multimedia
- Transfer video footage from mini-DV tapes to computer (about 20 hours of footage)
- Edit videos and produce individual clips for training and promotions
- Burn videos unto DVD
Yes, y’all, we know it’s a lot of work but we’ll turn you (with your permission and cooperation, of course) into dancing machines!

Hip Action Dance Studio is having an Open House on August 26th! (2007)
No way!!! I love that studio!!
Yes way! I love them too. They’re sooo crazy! The Open House is from 1 to 7 pm and they’re offering demonstrations and\or lessons in African Dance, Argentine Tango, Belly Dancing\Salsa Fusion, Hip Hop, Salsa, Stomp and West Coast Swing…
All those styles? At one studio?
Yuppers! And… They’re raffling 6 months of unlimited classes… So if you register at the Open House for one of the fall classes, you’ll get a chance to win! Plus when you register on the spot you’ll receive a 10% discount! Sweet deal, huh?
Ohh my gosh! That’s fantastic! Don’t keep me in suspense… I need details!
Each lesson costs $5, but it’s free if you join their VIP list before August 20th. Do you plan to go? Email them at RSVP@hipaction.ca. The Hip Crew will put you on the guest list and tell you how to become a VIP. (Free classes for VIPs, baby! You can’t beat that!) You can bring your friends too; just have them send in their RSVP.

M & M here! What’s happening? We haven’t seen you in … ever!?!
MARSHA:
We know we’ve asked before if you’d like to remain on our mail list. That worked about as well as catching water in fishnet so we’re starting over.
MYRLE:
HAHAHA! Water in a fishnet! Good one Marsh! You kill me! So here’s the deal, Ladies and Gentlemen, we are throwing out our old lists altogether. This is the last mailing you will get from us based on those lists. Get it?! Last one!! Dernier appel!! All aboard!!!!

Self-conscious or conscious self?

I see you hiding back there, cringing behind the pole and hoping no one will notice… whatever! Face it, with all the light pollution in the city, you’re really quite invisible out there unless you are one of the bright stars in the night. No one is watching you hoping you’ll trip and make a colossal fool of yourself.
I’ve been telling you people that for years (telling myself too), but I won’t try to rewrite what one brilliant author has already written. Bringing sexy back
July 6, 2007 at 1:21 am | Posted in Captain's Blog | Leave a commentOh my god!! West Coast Swing! I kinda knew a little bit from … mmm… 8 years ago. But I gave up on it because finding anyone who could dance it was about as successful as finding Atlantis.
I came across some WCS dancers in Montreal and started again at beginner’s level 5 days ago. Tonight, I went out to do intermediate level. At the risk of sounding obnoxious… meh! I’ll chance it… I am damned good at this dance! It’s so versatile and improvisational, it allows me to simply be — all the various shades of “me”.
Don’t get me wrong, I’m still having my torrid love affair with Argentine Tango but with WCS, I can dance to the latest R&B music and still do all the … oh heck! I can’t explain this. It’s late and I’m too wired to write. Let’s just say if I keep this up, I run the risk of spontaneous combustion. Oh yeah! Burn the floor, baby!
Anybody out there wanna take sexy back to the dance floor with me?
